BALTIMORE _ Following the previous coverage by news companies across the country on the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Maryland, six police officers were charged with murder in the latest news from down south.
Since what has been a ruling of an illegal arrest of Freddie Gray on April 12, 2015 Baltmore has been in a state of unrest where protesters have looted, vandalized, and destroyed many areas throughout the city.
Numerous videos of Gray’s arrest surfaced in wake of his arrest and death a week after being taken in by police who neglected to provide medical attention for Gray.
A list of the charges for the six officers involved clockwise from left to right.
Sgt. Alicia White: Manslaughter, second-degree assault, misconduct office
Lt. Brian Rice: Involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, misconduct in office, false imprisonment
Officer William Porter: Involuntary manslaughter,second-degree assault, involuntary manslaughter
Officer Edward Nero: Second-degree assault, misconduct in office, false imprisonment
Officer Garret Miller: Second-degree assault, misconduct in office, false imprisonment
Officer Caesar Goodson: Second-degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, manslaughter by vehicle, misconduct in office
The charges were issued out earlier today May 1st as soon as prosecutors ruled they had probable cause to charge officers with homicide.
